In the reception area hangs a large photograph of Yves Awouters with Hardrock Z, taken during the World Championships for Young Horses at Zangersheide. 'That picture was taken in 2008', Yves laughs. 'In the past I rode horses from Johan Thijs, Hardrock Z's breeder (Heartbreaker x Carthago Z). He brought the stallion to me to train. A few years later Hardrock Z was sold to Vladimir Tuganov, who later sold the stallion to José Maria Larroca. Hardrock Z jumped the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.'
Vindicat W (Guidam x Libero H), who won Olympic gold in London with Peter Charles and was later sold to Jessica Springsteen, received his training from Yves Awouters. Hurricane (Numero Uno) jumped with Yves up to CSI 3* after which he was introduced in the big sport by Olivier Philippaerts. Cairon 10 (Comme Il Faut) was also ridden internationally by Awouters. Later on, he continued his career with Niels Bruynseels and Simon Delestre.
